Tip

The name Mort Subite literally means "sudden death" in French. The term refers to a dice game often played at the Brussels Café 'La Cour Royale'. The loser of the game was declared 'mort' (dead). When time was short, they played one last game played in a single go, hence the name mort subite or "sudden death".
